L'Oreal Matte Morphose

There are a few new products I've tried lately that I should really get around to reviewing.  I've not done a review before, so I'm a little bit nervous about messing it up!  I've tried two of the new false lash effect mascaras now, so a comparison review could be a good idea.

I mentioned the other day that my foundation and I are no longer getting along, so I'd ordered Max Factor's Lasting Performance to see if it could fill the gap until I decide on a new direction.  I've worn it twice now and me no likey.  It's meant ot be a full coverage foundation and it's really not.  Either that or my skin just doesn't like it.

Anyways, I was reading a blog the other day where someone had a sample of L'Oreal Matte Morphose.  She hadn't tried it on her face as the sample was not her shade, but she liked the effect on her hand!  It sounds like it could be good for me due to the claims about hiding pores, keeping skin matte etc, so I've just ordered.  Fingers crossed!

"Its feather-light soufflé texture extends seamlessly across the skin for a transformation you can see and feel.  Pores appear virtually erased, the appearance of fine lines are reduced and skin feels peachy-soft."

Hmmm NOTD or NOT?

I'm a true blog stalker.  I may not post much, but trust me, I'm there, stalking your blog!  I'm seeing loads of NOTD (nail of the day) at the moment and I'm quite keen to jump on this bandwagon.  I paint my nails a lot and have some firm favourite colours, so I think I need to get in the habit of taking a snap when I finished painting my nails.

My favourite brands are definately Nails Inc and OPI.  I'm currently drooling over these and considering a purchase.

Nails Inc ice cream collection... would snap this up if I didn't already have a very similar green and two very similar purples!  It's hard to tell though - I was just looking at Jermyn street on the nails inc website, and it barely resembles the real life version.

Also coveting these matte collections, but I'm torn as to which set I prefer.  Sometimes I love how collections go together and it's almost a shame to wear just one colour at a time and break them up.  Can it become acceptable to wear different colours on alternate nails again soon please?!

You might be able to help me with something that's bugging me.  I don't like it when I can see my actual nail through some of my paler colours that aren't very opaque.  I think I need some osrt of opaque base coat.  Any recs?

Looking forward to sharing some NOTDs soon :)

A little bit less of me but a little bit more blogging

So I've cheered up a bit as I've lost 4.5lbs in a week on my new diet.  I'm trying to impose a clothes shopping ban on myself, so I thought tomorrow I'd go accessories shopping as a treat.

I will make sure to take some photos and post.  I've been terrible at that lately and still have so many birthday presents to take pictures of and post about.

Planned purchases for tomorrow include a really nice beige across the body bag with studs and rivets.  My friend actually bought this for me for my birthday, but one of the rivets fell out in the first week (during a drunken night out so probably my fault) so I had to take it back and they didn't have another.  Going to try a different shopping centre tomorrow to try and get it.  Also have my eye on some lovely summer flats with gold chains, a pretty belt and I've just seen a nice Barry M pink lipstick on a blog, so I might get that too.

This is the bag.  My bff is so good at choosing presents I'll love.

I'm having a foundation dilema at the moment.  My usual failsafe seems not to want to work with me any longer, so I'm on the look out for something new, trouble is I find foundation purchasing so difficult as you don't know what it's really like until you've parted with your cash.  Unless you buy from a high end counter I suppose, but I've always been to afriad to do that!  Gosh that really is sad at my age!

My usual failsafe is Max Factor miracle touch liquid illusion.  I like the application and the stayong power's not bad, although I do experiment with different primers.  It just doesn't seem to be going on well lately and it's starting to look a little powdery in places.  I assume my skin is changing.

I tried the Max Factor second skin foundation a few months ago and I hated it.  I seriously thought it was the worst foundation I'd ever tried.  I took it back to Boots and they actually let me have a refund (which suprised me).  Just as well considering £14 for such an awful foundation is such a rip off.

I always get sucked in by the adverts - I bought the Maybelline foundation where they pour it onto a golf ball in the add - that was the streakiest foundation I've ever tried!  Price doesn't always seem to make much difference, I bought the Philosophy Supernatural foundation last year for about £30 and that didn't impress me much either! Ah well, trying them out keeps me entertained.

For now I've ebayed for an interim foundation and I've gond for Max Factor lasting performance until I decide on the next big thing I want to try out.

Shopping will at least stop me thinking about eating things I shouldn't.  By the way - I'm fairly serious about banning clothes shopping to keep me on the dieting straight and narrow and I have proof - I haven't bought a single thing from the asos sale!!!

realfourteen is down in the dumps :(

I've not been around for ages.  I didn't even post all of my birthday goodies as intended or any of my latest fashion type purchases.  Well I'm a bit ashamed to admit I've been weight obsessing.  This realfourteen is currently feeling a bit more like a sixteen in a particularly unattractive bloated and flabby way.

I decided to put myself on a clothes shopping ban - if I'm determined to lose weight, what's the point in buying clothes which will shortly be too big for me, right?  I was feeling super determined and spent a while thinking about different diets.  I decided to go for one that's pretty extreme and after careful consideration, placed my order and then waited for my brother's 21st birthday to pass before starting.

Well today is day 5 and I'm having a pretty hideous time of it!  I've managed not to buy any clothes, although I have been religiously checking asos, topshop etc just for inspiration to keep me on the straight and narrow, but eatingwise, I've been quite rubbish.

Day 1 - 3 went well, but on the evening of day 3 I started to crack.  Day 4 was yesterday and as it was Saturday I had plenty of time ot think about fridge raiding and gave in.  In my defence, the diet I'm doing is total food replacement (you don't eat any real food) so it is hard, but I really lack willpower.  I'm going to try to be 100% again from today, I would love nothing more than to be slimmer for summer and be able to choose what i wear because I like it, not because it will cover the parts I don't like.
