Sleek pout paints - swatches and concoctions!

When I heard about the new Sleek pout paints I knew they were my kind of thing.  I love a bit of diy and creativity.

The pout paints are £4.99 each but I got them on a 3 for 2 deal so picked up 6 for the price of 4.

There are 11 available colours, I got:

Peek-a-bloo - blue
Pin up - bright red
Mauve over - pinky purple
Minx - a dusky pink / deep nude
Peachy keen - vibrant peach
Cloud 9 - white

I put a tiny amount of each onto a plate and got creating.  They're very highly pigmented and a little goes a long way so only use a little to start with and you can always add more if you need to.

Here are my creations

I could have made some more bright colours like a very bright pink, but I was trying to make colours I might actually want to wear, so I came out with more muted shades.  I added more pout paint to the amounts in the original photo to achieve this many little blobs of concocted colour.

A couple came out a little bit odd and not what I intended, but I swatched the nice ones on the back of my hand.  I think there are some rather gorgeous colours here.

After experimenting I made up two little pots of my favourite creations

Minx and a teeny bit of peek-a-bloo to give a dark pinky nude

Peachy keen, cloud 9, pin up and mauve over for a pinky coral

I absolutely love these and I'm sure I'll get lots of use out of them.  I'm sure I'll be mixing up more colours as and when I fancy a lip colour I don't have or probably if I see a new lip colour I like I'll try to create it with these.

If you're thinking of buying pout paints and want to make a variety of colours I'd say your staples are pin up (red), cloud 9 (white) peek-a-bloo (blue) and peachy keen (peach).  I think you could probably make the other colours I bought and the others in the range from those four.  I think it is nice to have some ready-made wearable pout paints too, so I would probably still have bought minx and mauve over as they're really nice shades.

What do you think?  Do you have these or will you be getting them?  Are there any obvious colour combos I could have made that I've missed?  I'd love to know =)

  6. Hi! Sorry for being late, I know this isn't a recent post, but I'd like to ask you: once you put your mixture in the sample pot, how long does it last before drying? I mean, does it last long enough for possible touch-ups during the day? Longer than that?
    Thank you!

    1. Oh they lasted ages - no problem for touch-ups at all :)
