February favourites

I enjoyed doing a 'January empties' post last month, but haven't really got to the bottom of anything much in February to warrant doing another, so I though go through my favourite products this month instead.

Liz Earle cleanse and polish
I'm sure I don't need to tell you why this is in my monthly favourites.  It's the best cleanser I've ever tried.  I reviewed it here when I first tried it, and have got through several since.  This it the big 200ml tube and I've been using it morning and night with my Clarisonic for the last few weeks.  Not 100% sure on the Clarisonic, but I love this cleanser.

Top Shop creme blush in flush
I bought this from The Sunday Girl's blog sale.  I don't own loads of blushes, so this is a great addition to my collection.  I really like the colour and have been wearing it along with pink lips for a nice matchy-matchy look.  I may well do a full review and swatches with this soon.

Soap & Glory "you won't believe your eyes" illuminating serum
This is wonderful for dark circles and puffiness.  I've been using it every night and can really see some results. I've review it in this post if you want to know more.

Jack Wills nail polish in blush
I just can't stop wearing this at the moment.  It's such a good colour for grabbing when you're in a rush as it applies quickly and easily and goes with anything.  I've also been wearing it loads under glitter polishes.  It appears in this post and this one too.

Yankee large jar candle in mango peach salsa
This is the candle I'm burning at the moment, and it smells gorgeous.  I love anything mango / peach or passion fruit, so as this has two of those, I'm in candle heaven.  This is the large size jar, and they burn for absolutely ages - I'm sure this will be with going for a good few more weeks yet.

If you don't know much about Yankee candles, they have a really huge range of sizes and fragrences, and I think they're very reasonably priced compared to some higher end brands.  Have a look on QVC if you want to check them out, or you can also find loads here on eBay for some bargain prices.

Bobbi Brown creamy concealer
I'd wanted to try this for ages and ended up snapping it up in a blog sale.  Initially I wasn't impressed, but I'm persevering with it, as so many people rave about this concealer!  I think I just need to find the right application technique.

MAC I like it like that cremesheen
This is a lovely lilacy-pink which I've started wearing one the days the sun has been shining in February.  It's really helping me to feel like it's Spring!  This is from an old MAC collection in 2010, as it came from an outlet store, but I'll be reviewing it soon and will put what the closest dupe is from the current range.

Illamasqua precision ink liquid liner
Clever me, I've picked an angle for this photo where the eye liner is pretty much hidden by a lipstick.  Good skills there.  I think I've raved about this before anyway, so they'll be a proper picture on my blog somewhere.  I went off liquid eyeliner for a bit, it just seemed sort of overdone, but lately I've been reaching for this again, and it's still the best liquid liner I've ever tried - it does not budge until you want it to, which is exactly what I look for in a liquid liner - nobody wants their eye liner transferring onto their brow bone.

Clinique high impact mascara
I got this when Clinique were doing a promotion - if you took in any old mascara, they would give you a mini version for free.  I got the High Impact mascara, which I'd actually tried before years and years ago, but this time around I'm so far loving it.  It just seems to give so much coverage so quickly, I may well be purchasing the full size soon.

Sleek natural pallette
I bought this from Secrets behind the closet door Charli's blogsale and I've used it nearly every day since.  I'm a real eyeshadow bore - I like simple neutral colours, so I love this.  I've been mainly using the grey and taupe shades, and before I was back into liquid liner, I was using the black to give a soft line too.

MUA love hearts lip balm in sweet kiss
These are just so cute, I love them!  Sweet kiss is the baby pink version and it smells and tastes like sweet vanilla.  Perfect handbag lip balm.

So those are my favourites this month - are any of these your favourites too?  If you'd like to see a full review on any of the bits I've not mentioned having reviewed before, just let me know.

  4. Loved this post, so many great products. I adore Yankee candles...sooo many nice smells.
Looking forward to the Topshop blush post, have been debating buying one. Also I had a MUA at Bobbi Brown put some concealer on me...amazing coverage but when I got home...immense creasing?! just didn't look right. Not sure if it was the application or not set properly. Why did you not like it?

    1. Hi hun - I find it hard to apply - not at all "creamy" like the name and it doesn't blend very smoothly. I've been trying to warm it up more before applying and that seems to be helpling xx

    2. Hmm, just read the other comment regarding the concealer...seems like we are all having similar problems!
Do you use your finger to apply it? maybe that will warm it up. The MUA used a brush on me, can't decide if I should buy it or not now!

  6. I'd love to know how you get on with the Bobbi Brown creamy concealer! I'd been lusting after it for months due to the hype but now I've got it I really kinda hate it! I find it goes on really grainy, and sits in any fine lines and doesn't actually cover anything.

Lets hope we find a way to make it work! xx

I'm currently running a jewelry giveaway and you don't have to follow to enter. Just help me name my necklace!

    1. Yes I'm having the same issues. I'm trying to warm it up before applying as I wonder if some of the issues are to do with it being winter and the product getting to cold? xx
