Finally... Revlon lip butters review and swatches

I say finally, but I have had these since they came out and have been loving using them over the past month or so and really love using them.  I know I only bought into them because they were possibly the most anticipated product so far this year (the power of bloggers eh?), but I'm so pleased I did because they've really exceeded my expectations.

They're really moisturising which makes them easy to wear, and the pigmentation is much better than I expected from a lip balm type product.  I also really love the packaging- the self-coloured lids are not only pretty but they help me grab the right colour when  I'm in a rush too.

The colours I have from left to right are Cotton Candy, Sweet Tart, Lollipop and Creme Brulee.

I love everything about these lip butters and I'm going to buy some more colours when they're next on offer in Boots.

Cotton Candy - a pale pink - is very pale on me, but it works well over lipsticks so I am still getting lots of use from it.

My favourite is the one I didn't originally intend to buy - sweet tart - a warm almost coral pink.  It's been my go to every day colour lately and again is great layered over lipsticks too.

Lollipop is just what I expected from seeing other people's swatches - it's such a rich bright cool pink shade - amazing for a lip balm type product.  The staying power of this one is pretty amazing too - I get a good few hours from it.

Creme Brulee is my disappointment - it's a very pale nude colour and too subtle on my lips for my liking.  But, I have been wearing it over some nude lipsticks to give the colour a bit more of a pop, as I do love the texture formula.

Next on my shopping list are Strawberry Shortcake - another pink shade, and peach parfait - a peach unsurprisingly!

You can get these from Boots for £7.99 but they sometimes have offers like two for £10 or 3 for 2.

Have you tried these?  Which colour is your fave?

  2. The texture of these is so worth it. They ARE like butter! I was surprised at how sheer they are, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
