I've had my ghd rare styler for about 3 years now and it's still as good as new. Other than the time I thought it had broken a few months back, but it just turned out the temperature in my house was too low in the dead of Winter, and as soon as we stuck the heating on they were fine! It's a shame really, because if it had broken, I'd have an excuse to buy one of the beautiful new peacock stylers...
Aren't they beauts? They come in green, blue, and purple - the last being my favourite - don't tell me you didn't know that purple is my favourite colour!
I really like the idea of the limited editions sets, so when you do need a new pair of ghds, there's always something a bit different to try out, and usually a few upgrades or improvements on previously models too.
With the peacock styler, the notable difference to the pair I own is the protective plate cover for when you're not using the straighteners (the black nozzle looking thingamabob in the first three pics). You snap the ghds shut and slide the guard on to keep the plates safe in between uses. A nifty idea, because if your plates are a beautiful peacock colour, you certainly wouldn't want them scratched.
The sets have a colour coordinating storage / travel bag and protective heat mat to prevent scorches to your furniture while you're using them, and it all comes in a lovely matching box making it perfect to give as a gift. Similar to the older pair I own, they've also got the swivelly cord so they don't get tangled wires and the sleep mode which turns them off if you accidentally leave them on - an essential feature for forgetful me.
The ghd peacock collection is limited edition and available direct from ghd for £119
