Boots 'say YES to summer' challenge - getting a holiday glow

Boots challenged me to 'say YES to Summer' a couple of weeks ago when we were having some particularly crap and not at all summery weather, so they sent me some goodies to help me create my own sunshine and the perfect holiday glow.

Soltan beautiful bronze instant bronzing lotion - I love a wash off self tan, it's all of the benefit without the commitment or the usual tell-tale fake tan smell.  I've been using this whenever I'm having a little more skin on show and wanting to look just a little bit sunkissed.

Soltan protect & tan SPF 30 - I've had one or two sunbathing opportunities at home this summer, but nothing requiring a factor 30 - I wish!  So instead this has gone straight into my basket of goodies I'm gathering up for my holiday.  I'm going to Vegas and am expecting it to be incredibly hot, so this sun cream will be perfect for when I'm lounging by the pool.

No7 protect & perfect intense body serum - this is also coming on holiday with me.  As a super rich body lotion I think this will be perfect for using like an after sun, especially as people keep telling me how dry my skin will become in Vegas, because it's a desert.  I'll update on how I've found this after my holiday.

Boots Repel insect repellent spray - thankfully I don't think I'm going to come into contact with any hungry little mozzies this year, so I've gave this insect repellent spray to my brother to try out while he was on holiday in Gran Canaria.  He didn't get bitten, so I think it worked pretty well.

I also got a No7 stay perfect nail colour in the lovely bright shade perky, which I'm wearing in the pics below.  I decided to add an accent nail using Models Own Hed Kandi in Disco Heaven which reminds me of summer and beaches because it's a gold glitter with turquoise flecks.

I also got an amazing new mascara which is the No7 Fanomenal lashes, and the 17 miracle matte pressed powder which I'd been thinking about trying for a while, so I thought I'd use them in a very bronzed and summer ready face of the day.  I wanted to keep the number of products to a minimum and  the makeup light so that it would be suitable for a hot sunny day, so as I'd used the Soltan beautiful bronze instant tan, I skipped foundation and just went with the L'Oreal nude magique BB cream followed by the miracle matte powder.  I kept it simple with a little sweep of a pale gold eyeshadow and the Fanomenal lashes mascara and a quick slick of my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stain in Darling.

I've also been asked to give my top tips for fake tanning, so I shall try my best...
  1. Always exfoliate and moisturise first if you want an even tan
  2. Keep moisturising every day to help your tan fade evenly
  3. If you're short on time, go for a wash off bronzer
  4. Always use a tanning mitt to avid awful orange palms!
I said yes to summer, and summer arrived, so you all have me to thank for that!  I went to a wedding on Saturday and the weather was absolutely beautiful for all of the photos, the couple were so lucky.

Feel free to leave me your top tips for the perfect fake tan too, I'd love to hear them.
