Help me choose - Topshop woodland holdall bag in black or beige

You know what?  I don't really like shopping at Topshop - it's too stressful.  Let me explain with an example.  It's Friday night, I see a new post on buy now blog later and it's featuring some amazing Topshop black ballet flats with rose gold studs.  I need them.  I go onto the Topshop site and there they are in all the sizes but I'm not sure if I need a size 4 or a size 5.  Saturday morning I go into my nearest Topshop to try them on.  They only have the silver colour studs, so I try them on for size and then go back home to order online.  Except, oh no, they've sold out - in every size!

Topshop is just too bloody popular for my liking, I don't like to be rushed when I shop and end up disappointed that I didn't buy something the second I saw it for it to then be forever out of reach.  Anyway the point of this rant is that the other day I was torturing myself by browsing the 'new in' section of the site when I spotted a rather lovely looking cut-out detail handbag in a beige and brown colour.  I started panicking about how I probably only had seconds to make a decision before the choice was taken from me with a big fat sold out sign, when something terrible happened.  The 'why not try' screen was telling me the bag also came in black... oh balls.

What was I to do?  It was too dangerous to wait and see if they were in my local store (it turned out they weren't anyway) so I ordered both colours so that I could choose at home without feeling like I was in a race against every other bag loving lady in London / the world.

So here they are and do you know what?  I can't choose.  Total FML right?  You see the black looks so much nicer in real life than it did online (link), I didn't quite realise the background to the cut-out bit was going to be dark green and I really like that.  But the beige was the one that first caught my eye and it's really pretty.  But is it good for Autumn?  Will the black go with more?  Aaaargh.

And the really annoying thing...  both colours are still in stock online. Bang goes my theory then.

Help please!  Which do I keep, black or beige? (nobody dare say both!)

ETA: Thank you for helping me choose - I'm keeping the black one - I hope I don't regret it!

  2. I defiantly like the beige one better. It stands out more and will be great for A/W. Plus beige goes with everything too, nearly..

  9. I say beige. I love the cut out detail, which seems a lot more noticeable on the beige.

  10. Go for the Beige. It's such a lovely bag and there are loads of black holdalls out there.

  11. I say beige, the black doesn't have the same wow factor, plus beige still goes with a lot of outfits, especially in A/W and see you into spring.

  20. Thanks for the help people - it's a bit 50 / 50 in the comments - black taking the lead by a couple. I think I'm swaying toward black myself, I think it's because I'm also a fan of dark green :)

  21. The black is definately nicer... if the beige one had had a lighter background colour it would have been better :) xxx

  22. Beige defo! Its more of an autumns colour whereas black is a winter colour. Also beige makes your outfit look a little softer!

  23. I'm glad you picked the black, that one is my favourite! I think it's the dark green cutout, it's a bit more unusual than your usual black bag xx
