Shopping for... Christmas and New Year's Eve party dresses

One of my favourite things about this time of year is the brilliant excuse the holidays give us to wear the sparkliest outfits that might seem a bit OTT any other time.  Any party, dinner or general night out over the festive season will see my pulling out sequins, embellishments, metallics, the lot.  I even like to dress glitzy on Christmas day and usually wear some sort of sparkly headgear too.  Some of my friends think I'm mad because they spend Christmas day in their PJs, but I' never one to miss an excuse to bling it up.

This year my work isn't having its usual big Christmas party, so unfortunately I won't have a chance to wear any full on evening dresses, but there are plenty of other slightly more informal dates in my diary suitable for party dresses with a touch of festive glamour.

I've been window shopping for Christmassy dresses, and these are my favourites so far.

I don't usually like to wear anything that doesn't have sleeves, but most of the party dresses around at this time of year do tend to be sleeveless or have very teeny cap sleeves, so I'd just add one of my nicest blazers, maybe even a sequin one...!

Have you picked out your party dress yet?  And do you like your clothes to sparkle at Christmas time too?

Keep up to date with all things flutter and sparkle in any of the following ways -
