Nails Inc Feather polish review and swatches - York, Chester and Cornwall

You may remember a post I did a little while ago (this one) showing some of Nails Inc's new collections for Spring and Summer.  I particularly liked the Feathers polishes, but thought they weren't coming out until March, so I had a nice surprise when I found them on the QVC website last week.  I ordered them straight away, which was just as well because they sold out really quickly.  You can still pre-order for when more stock comes in, but until then you can feast your eyes on some lovely swatches :)

You can get a full coverage from this polishes, or use them like special effect top coats over another colour, so I shown how they look with one, two and three layers over a clear base.

Seeing how these look after one coat made me think about which colours would work well as a base.  Chester was the feather polish I wanted to wear first and it looked like it would go well with Essie Turquoise and Caicos.  I just did one generous coat of Chester over one coat of Turquoise and Caicos and I think it looks rather nice, like an exotic parrot feathers maybe!

The Feathers collection is the latest innovation from Nails Inc - I love how they keep bringing out something brand new.  The 'feather' effect is made up on teeny strands of colour which remind me a bit of sugar strands for cupcake decorating.  Layered up as three coats these really do start to look feathery, or worn as one coat they're like a different take on a glitter topcoat.  Well done Nails Inc, I like!

Which is your favourite feather polish colour?

  5. I actually really like this, I think I prefer the look with one coat rather than multiple layers. It reminds me a holographic nail varnish I used to use all the time when I was younger!
