February beauty favourites

This month's favourites are a mixed bag of new products I've just started using and some things I've been loving for a while.

Vichy's Normaderm micellar water had to make a reappearance in this month's favourites as it really has changed the way I remove my makeup at night. A makeup wipe has not touched my skin since I've owned this and it doesn't even take any more time or effort. This stuff is just as good as Bioderma - if you gave me both in unlabelled bottles I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Following my visit to the Edward James Aveda salon I decided to try an Aveda shampoo.  After a bit of research on the Aveda site I decided scalp benefits was the one for me and it's going well so far.  My hair is less greasy when I use this, and for me, that's a huge deal.  I'll write a full review on this when I get to the bottom of the bottle.

I've been using the Vichy Idealia moisturiser for over a month now and I'm really enjoying the novelty of an illuminating product. My skin has only recently developed some dry patches, so I'm starting to experiment with products other than just the ones for oily skin. I love the smell of this and it's pink too! It works particularly well with my Laura Mercier silk creme foundation (sand beige) - more new territory for me now that my skin's not standard 'oily'. This leaves me with a dewy finish which I'm totally not used to but really rather like. I still have oily patches, so to combat those I've been relying on the Fashionista mattifying primer for my t-zone and my Urban Decay de-slick for staying power. I know it seems mad that I'm using such opposite products together, but I have combination skin and this is working for me right now!

My lips are loving the Maybelline color whispers I picked up in Canada and my favourite by far is lust for blush. It's the perfect pinky nude colour. It's really creamy and very pigmented which makes it so easy to wear even when my lips might be a little flakey. I hope Maybelline are bringing these to the UK because I have a feeling I'm going to run this out pretty quickly.

For brows I've moved on from my MUA palette and onto this one from Look Beauty. I've been quite happy with my MUA palette but the Look version is better for me because there are more colours in the palette. My brows are naturally very dark, so the darkest two shades in the Look palette give me a better match. The other Look beauty product I've been loving this month is fresh cheeks blush in guava - I love the coraly peach colour of this creme blush and it's giving me that spring feeling.

I bought Clinique bottom lash mascara this month after it was recommended to me by Fei as we both have oily eyelids which can turn us into smudgey pandas. I was rarely wearing mascara on my bottom lashes at all until I got this, so I'm really pleased this has worked for me.

Were any of these products your favourites this month too?
