My May favourites seem to consist of quite a few new products that I've discovered in the last month or so and have really enjoyed, plus one or two old faithfuls. I should also have included some of the Barry M gelly nail polishes in here too (see my collection and swatches here), as I've been wearing them non-stop in the last month.
For lips in May it's either been a bright matte red thanks to MAC Ronnie red, or a pretty Barbie bubblegum pink hue with my new MAC raspberry swirl (review and swatches here). I've been keeping my lips smooth and soft with Blistex med plus lip balm - I don't really like the packaging or the smell / flavour of the product, but I love how well it moisturises even really dry lips.
For the hotter weather I've been using a much lighter moisturiser which doesn't leave me greasy, and that's REN's hydra-calm day cream (review here). I've been trying to go lighter on the foundation too, so I've been keeping redness away with L'Oreal's green toned CC cream, which also doubles up as a foundation for days when I just want a quick fix before dashing to the supermarket. I'm still loving my Benefit fake-up concealer and thoroughly recommend it if you want to conceal anywhere you have dry patches. And also my skin has been bronzed by L'Oreal's sublime bronze dry mist (review here) - well if it's good enough for Cheryl...
My favourite blush, bronzer and highlighter this month (although I've not been wearing them all at the same time - I'm far too lazy for the three step cheeks I envy on Tanya Burr) has been MAC's feeling flush, which I love to pair with red lips, NARS laguna bronzer which I've lusted after for ages and finally bought this month, and MUA's cheep but cheerful undress your skin shimmer highlighter.
My eyes have been treated to the NARS smudge proof shadow base (review here) which has been such a win product for me as it keeps my shadow still on my super oily lids. Having my shadow base sorted has really got me back into using my Urban Decay Naked basics palette, which may be boring but I love it. And finally for my brows I've been loving a quick cheat route which is saving me a few precious minutes in the morning - this *KIKO eyebrow expert kit has a cream brow shade that's perfect for running through my brows in a hurry when I don't have time to be carefully applying powder shades.
Were any of these products your favourites this month?
Gorgeous picks lovely... LOVE the look of that beaut of blusher from MAC! I hope they release it again, as my collection needs it :D xxx

My friend bought it for me at one of those CCO stores so you might be able to get it xx
DeleteI agree - the Naked Basics palette is one of the best investments I've ever done haha! I really love it. I'm not an eye-shadow girl actually, but I've been using this palette every time I leave the house. I'm afraid I'm addicted! The shades are so convenient for everyday wear. You've made me really curious about the Sublime Bronze! I'm still doubting a little but as the sun is just really bad for your skin, I might go for a fake tan haha! Great post!

I'm the same on the Naked Basics, although I'm extra boring because I even tend to use the same shade all the time! The Sublime bronze spray is so easy to use, I think you'll like it xx
DeleteI have a sample of the CC cream but I've not tried it yet! I really want to try the Naked Basics Palette!

I am totally in love with raspberry swirl and the MUA highlighter, great picks :D xxx
ReplyDeleteGreat favorites!
ReplyDeleteLove the Nars Laguna bronzer too! Wasn't too keen on the L'Oreal CC cream as a foundation but it's definitely great for getting rid of redness. :) xx

I know what you mean - I wasn't expecting it to be a foundation so I never thought of it like that. If I'm not wearing foundation I use it almost all over because I get lots of redness!
DeleteI'm desperate to try nars laguna! Those lipsticks look amazing from the swatches :) x
