I'm pretty obsessed my eyeliner. If I'm not wearing it, my eyes feel a little bit naked and I think they pale into insignificance. I like to have at least a skinny line on my top lashes, or if I'm feeling a bit more fruity a flick, or maybe a bold line. I have trouble finding a good black liner for the job as I have oily lids, so most liners don't stay put and transfer up onto my crease. L'Oreal have sent me three of their new super liners to play with (plus an eyebrow pencil), so surely one of them will measure up to the challenge, right?
*Super Liner blackbuster - this is a big, chubby, felt-tip style eyeliner. It gives a medium to thick line of solid, deep black, and it's very easy to control for a smooth line because of its chunkiness. I wasn't sure I'd be able to get a line of a more every day thickness from this liner pen, but it's got a fine point on it, so you can control the pressure to change the width of the line. (In the swatches below I used the fine point and not much pressure, so rather stupidly it looks just like the perfect slim line, but trust me, it does give a nice fat line too!) It doesn't drag at my lids and gives me an even result. I'm also shocked to say it doesn't smudge on me! I'd be signing from the roof tops about this liner, if it wasn't for the fact that I liked one of the other Super Liners even more...
*Super Liner Perfect Slim - this is the one for me. It's a perfect no-smudge, intense felt-tip liner that can give as precise a line as you need. It's very similar in formulation and performance to the blackbuster, it's just a skinnier version. This pen is slightly more difficult to control, and I didn't get a totally smooth line unless I tugged my lid a little, but I'm okay with that. I'm not just saying this, but this is the best liner I've tried in ages. I loved it when i first applied it, but had a sinking feeling that it would transfer onto my crease like nearly every other liner, but no, it's a winner!
*Super Liner GelMatic - this is an automatic pencil gel liner. It's not a super dark black, but it glides on really nicely and is good for smudging and blending if you like to do your liner like that. It says it's waterproof, but it transfers on my oily lids pretty quickly. It works nicely on my waterline though.
*Super Liner Brow Artist - I was initially the most excited for this because I was getting into a bit of a brow rut. I've been using powder brow products for ages, so I'd forgotten the kind of precision you can get with a pencil. With this product I've been using the built-in brush to tame my brows before going in with the coloured pencil end to define and fill in any gaps. I then comb through with the brush again to blend and soften the pencil and then go over a bit with the waxy pencil end. I really like the results I'm getting with this - I have some renewed brow love right now as I'm getting a much more defined and symmetrical result. The colour is a very good match for my dark brows too.
