Whenever I have the time I like to gather up all of the little beauty stories gathering in my inbox to share what I think are the best bits. Sadly all too often I just don't find the time, but what with so many amazing releases in the run up to Christmas, I just have to share some of these...
So the biggest news right now is that there's truth in the rumours of a third Naked palette! The Urban Decay Naked 3 palette exists and you can see it up close with swatches at British Beauty Blogger. I know some will groan and think it's all a bit over-done, but I absolutely love the look of this palette. Naked 1 was a little too warm for me and some of the colours a bit dark, but I love 2 and I wear the Naked Basics palette almost every day. Naked 3 has a lot of very pinky nudes and I can't wait to be able to swatch it in December.
I'm a sucker for eye palettes as you may have noticed, and the Bobbi Brown twilight lip and eye palette is my top pick of the BB Christmas offerings. Stila have also launched their Christmas gifts and the Stila smudge stick set is my favourite.
Illamasqua have just launched their selfish Christmas range with the stand out fatale palette and this amazing snowy glitter polish called Blizzard. I can't imagine how I'd wear that palette, but it's a beauty. Not new out, but now more easily available are the Kardashian Kardazzle palettes - I really wanted one of these last year but was put off by the crazy shipping, so I'm happy to hear these will be landing at feelunique.com this month.
Paul & Joe, the masters of cute and quirky have released their Christmas goodies - the sugar and spice gift set is my favourite pick for the crazy cat lady in your life. Also at ASOS everyone's talking about Anna Sui beauty - the minnie mouse themed products are super cute, but as usual it's the eye palette that grabs me.
I talked about this year's advent calendars in this post here, but that was before I found out about the Body Shop advent calendar, which is possibly my favourite of them all because everything hidden inside is something I would use - there's not a single naff product in it.
In other news, the makers of Cowshed have opened a cheeky little salon in Shoreditch called The Cheeky Parlour offering a file and paint for £10 and blow drys or up-dos for £15.
The Body Shop are at the forefront of the campaign against animal testing and an email that popped into my inbox this week confirmed that the Chinese Food & Drug Administration have announced their intention to stop mandatory animal testing on domestically manufactured beauty products from June 2014. There will still be mandatory testing on products that are sold but not produced in China for now, but the Body Shop will keep campaigning for more changes to keep little bunnies safe :)
There are some great magazine freebies out this month. Glamour have special edition Kate Spade Nails Inc polishes, Cosmopolitan are giving away mini Orly polishes and Elle has a choice of three Benefit lip glosses.
Space NK are having another special event on 20 November - you can grab an amazing goodie bag when you spend £150. The perfect time to do your Christmas shopping (or in my case treat myself to the Hourglass ambient lighting palette I've been eyeing up).
If you're lucky enough to live near one of the Yankee candle outlet stores get yourself down there on 28, 29 or 30 November for deals like 3 for 2 on all large jars, six small jars for £30, 25% off the four fragrances of the month and a free gift when you spend £35. I have my eye on snowflake cookie and merry marshmallow.
What do you think of all the new releases? Are they making your Christmas wish list?
