Beauty: New from Revlon - Colorstay Moisture Stain review and swatches

Revlon's latest release is a collection of lipgloss-stain hybrids inspired by glamorous cities all around the world (hence the lovely passport cover!).  There are 12 colours in the range in total, and I have four to try out and swatch.

The colours I have here left to right are 005 Parisian Passion - a sultry plummy purple, 035 Miami Fever - a sizzling orange-coral, 001 India Intrique - a cool toned deep pink, and 055 Stockholm Chic - a very deep nude / brown shade.

These moisture stains have a really interesting texture - they apply like a liquid lipstick and the texture doesn't slip and slide quite like a gloss.  They need more of a precise and careful application like a lipstick - you can't sort of throw it on and smoosh it around with your lips like you might a lip gloss.  The benefit of that is that the product stays where you put it, both during application and when you're wearing it.  They feel really comfortable and moisturising on my lips, and give a beautiful glossy shine which lasts really well.
India Intrigue is my favourite colour of the four I have here - it's a bright but really wearable hot pink, and I know I'll also be reaching for Parisian Passion a lot come September!  I'd say these four aren't all of the best colours in the collection - most people (including me) love a pink, especially for summer, and there are a lot of stunning pinks in the collection, so definitely check out some other blog posts too to see more of the colours. Here are a couple of quick snaps I took at the launch event, although it was in a darkish club, so the lighting wasn't the best!

I think the pink in the top right here are LA Exclusive and Rio Rush, which were my favourites from the whole collection, but to be honest I loved all of the pinks - so predictable!

The Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stains will be available from August and will be priced at £7.99 each from Boots and Superdrug.

  3. The pinks are definitely the most gorgeous! The nude shades look really nice, too, but I wouldn't wear them in summer.
