Today I'm taking about a new skincare brand I've been given the opportunity to try out. It's called One Love Organics, and first things first, how cute is the packaging? I love how it mixes old fashioned apothecary style brown glass jars with really modern, pretty labelling. These give my bathroom extra cool points.
One Love Organics is a brand that's new to me - as the name suggests, the products are made with organic plant based ingredients and are designed to work with all skin types, and the products are hand crafted. I think these two brand tag lines really sum it all up - We trust in the healing power of plants. And - We embrace the simplicity and the knowledge that you can achieve more with less.
I've tried out two of the products from the range and I've been getting on really well with them. My favourite is the Skin Saviour Waterless Beauty Balm. This is a luxurious cleansing balm which also doubles up as a super-intense moisturiser. I've mainly used it as a cleansing balm and it's such a pleasure to apply and massage into the skin. It has a lovely fruity fragrance and it's just such a lovely experience that I end up spending far too long in the bathroom. It leaves my skin totally clean and feeling nicely nourished and comfortable.
As a moisturiser I've just tried it on the odd dry patch. The balm melts into an oil texture with the heat of your skin, so it's very easily absorbed and gives an instant hit of hydration and reduces the appearance of any dryness. It's great on raggedy cuticles too.
I've also been using the Brand New Day Microderma Scrub and Masque. It's a powder exfoliant which you activate with water. You only need to pour about a teaspoon of the product onto your palm to have enough for your whole face. This is a lovely scrub which has extremely tiny scrubby bits - so small that to begin with you're not even sure that they're there, but you then start to feel them working on the skin. I really like the smoothing after-effects of using this product, but unfortunately I'm not so keen on the smell. At first it smells fruity like the waterless balm, but when in action it switches to a bit of a stale soap smell. It probably wouldn't bother most people, as it is just that old fashioned soap smell, but it's one of my pet peeves unfortunately. It's a lovely product, so I have just carried on using it whilst manning up and breathing through my mouth! I've not given it a go yet, but you can also use this as a masque by mixing the powder with a smaller amount of water to form a paste.
One Love Organics have tonnes of products within their range, and you can see and shop them all at oneloveorganics.eu. I'm really impressed with both of the products I've tried and would happily keep using them - the only downside is that they are at the higher end of the skincare price range. The Skin Saviour Waterless Beauty Balm is £52 and the Brand New Day Microderma Scrub and Masque is £34. One Love Organics offer smaller sizes of some of their products so that you can try them without making the full commitment - look for their products labelled Discover if it's your first try and you're worried about whether you'll like the products.
