Nails: New from Models Own - Diamond Luxe Collection

Coming home from a holiday is always a bit of a downer, but finding gorgeous new polishes from Models Own waiting for me on the doorstep certainly helped!  That and a good old cup of PG Tips - sorry Mexico, you were gorgeous in every way, but your tea was horrendous :)

Models Own's latest collection is called Diamond Luxe, and the polishes actually contain real diamond dust - oooh fancy! The diamond dust has been used in these polishes to give them a multi-dimensional shimmer that's much more subtle than a glitter and stays smooth within the polish.  This collection's a massive hit with me - as soon as I started seeing the images appearing on instagram I knew I'd love this type of polish finish, and I'm pleased to see they come in  big variety of ten colours too.

I've swatched the three lovely colours I have to play with, and if you look closely, you can see the shimmer, although I admit, I've not managed to pick it up very well - it's so much more obvious in real life.  My skills with my new camera are a bit lacking and I really need to learn all the tricks!  If you look at the images of the polishes in the bottles, you can see the shimmer coming through better. For some swatches which really do pick up the shimmer well, have a look at this post from Fundamentaly Flawless.

This lovely green is called Emerald Green and it's one of my favourites from the collection.  The colour's lovely and bright and intense, and it works really well with the shimmer.  This polish applied beautifully too and was opaque almost straight away.

I love a purple, and Pear Purple is no exception, it's such a nice mid-purple shade.  This one looks great with the shimmer effect too, and it also applied really easily.  I can see myself wearing this one loads.

Radiant Pink is a beauty of a colour, but it's the one I found hardest to work with.  It has more of a jelly consistency than the others which are more creamy colours, so it took me three coats to build up to this level of coverage.  It's still not quite opaque enough for my liking, so next time I think I'd go with four coats for this shade.

There are ten colours in the collection all together and you can see them all on the Models Own facebook page.  I'm really liking the look of Princess Pink and Trillion Taupe.  The new collection goes on sale this week on 19 September at modelsownit.com, it'll also be available at the Bottleshops from 20 September and at Superdrug on 24 September, and the polishes are £4.99 each.

    1. I'm happy to see such a bright collection launching at this time of the year - usually autumn collections can be a bit samey with those predictable burgundy shades!

  4. I would of chose the pink and green too. Love how the shades have turned out. I love a good creamy polish, shame the pink one is more gel based. x

    1. I know, you're right, but there is another pink in the collection, and that's looks really creamy, so I think I'll be giving that one a go!
