Firstly, the Rimmel Provocalips is the longest lasting of this line up. This lipstick lasts so well I literally had to scrub it off at the end of the day, so that's my top pick for all day colour. It is drying on the lips, but that's why there's a balmy product at the other end of the wand. Next the Nars Velvet Matte lip pencils are topping my favourites list this year for both colour, the non-drying feel on the lips and a fair half day staying power before touch ups are needed. Damned is my favourite shade, but Never say never is also getting its share of visits to the pencil sharpener.
I recently discovered the Bourjois rouge edition velvets and headed straight for the berry brights. I'm really impressed with the formula and will be looking out for more shades to try. They apply really fluid and the wand allows for a real precision application before drying down to a soft matte finish which lasts until lunch. The Rimmel Exaggerate lip liner is sort of the odd one out in this pile, one because it's an actual lip liner rather than a lip stick in pencil form, and also because it's not a berry shade! I shamelessly ran out to buy this after seeing it in Amelia's video where she compared the shade Eastend Snob to Charlotte Tilbury's pillow talk. I don't have the CT pencil, so I can't compare, but I really like the colour and the wind up crayon / pencil style of the product makes it really easy to use whether you're just lining your lips, fully colouring them in, or going the whole way and over-drawing them à la Kylie Jenner. Plus it's only £3.99!
Lastly two of Rimmel's Apocalips shades are gracing my everyday makeup bag - one old and one new. I have the Rimmel Matte Apocalips in meteoric matte which gives a full on, sultry deep red-brown lip look, and also as it's now Christmas season (well almost), I've been going back to my all time favourite red, which is the original Apocalips Apocaliptic. This is my real vixen, I'm going 'out' out, 'look at me' red and I will forever repurchase it. The new matte version lasts longer, and with the darker colour I like the softer matte finish, but for Apocaliptic it wouldn't be right without its gloss.
What's your favourite lip colour this season?
