The formula is not to be confused with a lipgloss or a liquid lipstick - these colourful little wands contain a semi-matte, semi-sheer creme formula which is really forgiving to apply, and can be gradually built depending on how intense you want the result to be. If you're nervous about rocking a bold lip because getting your edges neat is tricky with shinier, gloopier, heavier formulas, you'll love how easy the ultra velour lip creams are to apply.
On the first coat, the coverage is slightly sheer, so this is the time to be getting your lip line right. The second coat gives a bolder colour and evens everything out if your first coat was patchy. I find all of the colours work best this way. The finish you get with these is somewhere between a semi-matte and a satin, which again makes even the darkest shades really wearable. Despite the finish, these lip colours are not at all drying and feel really comfy to wear, but they don't stick around all day, so expect to reapply a few times.
I think the shade range is great and the brighter options are definitely my favourites - there are some great berry and plum shades which are brilliant for right now and the pinks are corals will be great come spring. The names are a little bit odd and I had a laugh labelling my swatches - I'm not sure if maybe some are song lyrics? Either way, I'd love to have the job of chief shade namer over at Makeup Revolution, they must have a great time!
