Home for Christmas - decorations, tableware and home comforts

Oh my goodness it's Christmas week - Christmas is actually on Friday!  No matter how hard I try to prepare, or how early I start planning, a familiar panic sets in during the final few days leading up to Christmas.  Have I forgotten to buy a gift for someone?  Have I missed a vital item off the grocery list?  Did I get all the neighbours' names right for their cards?  Everything's probably fine, but that little bit of Christmas fretting always happens to me regardless - partly I think it's pure excitement - I still can't sleep on Christmas Eve!

Hopefully your presents are bought, wrapped, and tucked under the tree by now - mine are, mostly bar one or two stragglers.  So my last Christmas instalment is not a last minute gift guide, but a nosey around my house and a peek at those all important Christmas home comforts and decorations that can make the season feel extra special.  My table is glistening with gold this year, whereas my living room has a simple white theme, with a few silver accessories.  I also have a few all important extras, like board games for after dinner, a couple of almost universal gifts to have on standby for unexpected guests, and my favourite Christmas chocolates, because calories don't count at Christmas, obvs.

And lastly here's my tree, which I adore.  It's a six and a half foot non-drop Christmas tree which we bought from our local florist for £50.  I have an all white decorations policy going on at the moment, and the baubles are a mixture from Homebase, B&Q, Marks & Spencer, The White Company, Asda, Primark and Paperchase.

This is my last blog post ahead of the big day, so all that remains is for me to wish you the most perfect Christmas with your favourite people.  I hope Santa brings you all you've wished for, plus tonnes of pigs in blankets :)
