Hey, long time no blog! To explain my absence, I've been busy sunning myself in gorgeous Dubai, but more about that another time. Today is all about a beautiful new fragrance launch from L'Occitane which is so perfect for this time of year. Let me introduce you to Violette & Rose De Mai...
I'm a fan of most things L'Occitane do - they're a faultless brand to me, and there's nothing not to love, but I'm particularly fond of their fragrances. Delicate Peony was one of my particular favourites a few years ago, I also really liked Cherry Blossom and more recently the Rhubarb and Grapefruit scent from Christmas. The latest offering - Violette & Rose De Mai - is a wonderful blend of violet and rose, which when sprayed immediately conjures thoughts of summer days and clean linen, and then dries down to a subtly musky floral scent.
I always say that I'm not a fan of heavy rose scents (and I wasn't too sure what to expect from violet), but thankfully this isn't an overpowering rose at all - it's floral but also fresh as the blend combines bergamot and mandarin with a musk and sandalwood base alongside the violet and rose. For me this is a really wearable daytime fragrance for summer time, and is a slightly more sophisticated scent than some of the really fruity floral fragrances I usually go for.
L'Occitane's Violette & Rose De Mai eau de toilette has been released to celebrate L'Occitane's 40th anniversary and is available now in store and at loccitane.com priced at £52 for 75ml.
