I'm real nail polish lover, so it seemed fitting for one of my gift guides to be all about nail polish! I'm rounding up lots of sets that I like this year, but there are some notable brands missing - Essie and OPI for example just didn't have anything I found interesting this year - I guess seeing as I've bought so many of their holiday collections in the past, it's all getting a bit samey? China Glaze have some nice looking sets out, but generally they all contained a few colours I didn't love alongside some really good ones, so I talked myself out of the purchase! Anyway, here's what did make the cut!
First up is this gift set from Jessica which contains three beautiful jewel coloured nail polishes in a glittery sand finish. I've tried out all three of these, and whilst the red is the most traditionally 'Christmassy' my favourite was the dark blue. They're lovely polishes to apply giving a really good coverage with just one coat, although I applied two just to be sure! They lasted really well on my nails too - I think it's that slightly gritty feel to the finish which gives them extra durability.
My Mum has asked for this manicure set from Champney's this Christmas, and as it's on the Boots 3 for 2 deal I was more than happy to oblige! It contains a hand cream, hand scrub, cuticle oil, glass nail file, a top and base coat and one coloured nail polish. My mum spends ages re-shaping and prepping her nails whenever she gets a break, so this kit has everything she needs for some serious nail pampering.
This mini Ciaté duo makes a great small gift for someone when you want to give a thoughtful gift without blowing your budget. You get two Ciate polishes which go beautifully together or could be worn alone. There's a pale pink in the shade Amazing Gracie and a glittery top coat called Antique Brooch. Ciaté also have this fabulous snow globe nail polish gift set which I have my eye on - love a bit of gimmicky packaging!
Deborah Lippman polishes are rather pricey, so as much as I love the quality, they're not something I'd regularly splurge on. However when it comes to writing my Christmas wish list all bets are off and I particularly like to ask for gifts that I wouldn't usually treat myself to. This duo is the perfect example of that - I probably don't need another baby pink nail polish (La Vie En Rose) or iridescent glitzy topcoat (Heart of glass), but do you know what? It's Christmas and I love them, so why not?!
This set of three mini nail polishes makes a perfect Christmas gift for someone who likes to play it a bit safer with their nail colours. There's nothing too wild here - just three pretty, girly shades (a soft plum, pink and shimmery pink/peach) in cream and pearlised finishes, and they're packaged up beautifully ready for gifting. This set is only £10 and is also on the three for two deal at M&S.
Next is this gift set from Models Own which combines nail polish and makeup all in the one set. I love this idea and it's the kind of gift set I'd love to get for Christmas because it has a little bit of everything! In this set you'll find two chrome finish nail polishes in golf and silver finishes, plus two satin lipsticks in pretty pink and red shades, as well as two chrome cream eye colours in gold and bronze hues. They also have several other gift sets focusing on different products, such as 'all about the face' and 'all about the lips - you can find them all here at modelsownit.com
How beautiful is that rose gold water bottle? This is sure to make a funny gift for ladies who like a glass or two of the pink stuff! This set also includes a full size of the Nail Kale superfood base coat (which is really good FYI) and a mini of the Kensington Caviar top coat plus two nail colours in Cornwall Gardens and Manor Mews powered by matcha polishes.
Following along the same theme, this second set from Nails Inc includes a gorgeous little makeup bag with the slogan 'Prosecco is the answer' on the front. I know so many people who would love to get this for Christmas! I'd personally buy this just for the makeup bag, but as a bonus you also get a nude gel effect polish in Colville Mews and a snow globe glitter polish in Globe Walk.
Nails Inc have another great gift set out this year in the form of this set of four full sized polishes packaged up like a giant candy cane! I'd say these polish colours are Christmassy but with a bit of an edge as alongside the classic red and sparkly shades, you also get a black polish which is going to look amazing under either of the glitter topcoats, and will give a completely different look from wearing the red base.
As with all of my gift guides this year, I'm giving one of the gifts away to one of you guys, and today it's the Nails Inc Candy Cane gift set!
