Christmas gift guides 2016 - beauty gifts under £30

We've had beauty gifts over £30, so now it's time for something a little more affordable, but the gifts are still gorgeous.  I've found some beautiful sets and palettes out there this year, and you won't believe that some of them are under £30!

First up is this really cute set from Boots, which I think is a really refreshing change for their Christmas gifting range.  They have a wide range of Alice in Wonderland subtly themed gifts and I really like them.  This one includes an abstract print wash bag (look closely and you'll spot Alice!) together with three bath and body minis and a shower puff.

There are naturally, a lot of makeup palettes in my gift guides this year.  I'm not apologising for that, I love a good palette, but remembering that not everyone's a beauty obsessive like me, I wanted to include something that's a bit more universal and also really good value.  My Mum for example wouldn't know the first thing to do with a Too Faced palette, but I know she'd feel safe and comfortable playing around with these colours from the Marks and Spencer Limited Collection.  This drawer style palette for eyes and cheeks is £16 and is also part of the three for two offer on gifts.

I popped some hand cream gift set suggestions into my stocking fillers gift guide, but as we're going up to £30 today we can go for some L'Occitane luxury!  This gift set includes three of L"occitane's popular scents - Cherry Blossom, Pivoine and also the new Arlésienne fragrance which I talked about in this post.  Along with candles, a set like this is my top suggestion for when you're buying for a female you don't know so well.

I really like to get skincare gift sets for Christmas, particularly because you tend to get more for your money with bonus products being included.  This set from Caudalíe is a great example of that kind of value, as for the price of the 75ml Instant Detox Mask, this set also includes 15ml sizes of another mask and a peel.  I've heard amazing things about how good the detox mask is for dealing with marge pores, so I can't wait to give this a try.

Ahhh Too Faced always come up with such beautiful Christmas gift sets don't they?  I'm still hoarding treasuring my Grand Chateau gift set from last year's Christmas collection and will never be throwing that packaging away!  This year's Christmas in New York range has some equally gorgeous and innovative styling.  The Merry Macarons set has a beautiful 3D pop out scene design housing the palette and also containing a mini Better Than Sex Mascara.  The shades in this palette are really gorgeous and wearable - neutrals but with some added sparkle and richness for the party season.  Sadly I can't spot this in stock online right now (it's only £28 so I'm not surprised that it's been popular), but I did see it in store in Debenhams recently (in the Oxford Street store) so I think it's still possible to track these down!

You may have spotted the Veet Beauty Styler set in Boots before, but new for Christmas is this gift pack version which also incorporates a High Definition brows product for £24.99.  The Beauty Styler can be used to deal with facial hair, bikini line and also brow trimming.  I've only ever attempted trimming by unruly brows with scissors in the past, and that was quite the dangerous experience, so this seems like a great product to me, and it's very versatile too.

This is another gift set from the Alice in Wonderland selection at Boots.  I couldn't help including a second as I couldn't really choose between the two that I think are the best.  I love this one mainly because of the makeup bag which has 'I'm late for a very important date' printed on the front in gold. I'd have bought this for the makeup bag alone, but you also get two 50ml body mists as part of the set.

Now would you expect to find a Becca palette in an 'under £30' gift guide?  It's kind of a cheat, well sort of but not really.  This is £35 on Space NK, but I've also seen it at Cult Beauty for £27, so I feel this allows it into the gift guide!  I bought this to give to a friend and when I was photographing it I felt distinct pangs of jealousy, so I went and got another for myself!  This includes three blushes in pretty pink and peach shades of wisteria, songbird and snapdragon.

Urban Decay have featured a few times in my Christmas gift guides so far, obviously because their seasonal gifting range game is strong this year, but I also wanted to mention a palette which has been out for a while and isn't new for Christmas.  One of my friends is just starting to experiment with highlighter, so I decided that the Illuminated Trio from Urban Decay would probably be a good place for her to start as it contains three different shades, including one that can double up as an illuminating bronzer.  I think she's going to love that gorgeous peachy shade too.

I have a rather large selection of matte liquid lipsticks on my own Christmas wish list, but for someone who's perhaps a little more pared back with their makeup, this gift set from Burt's Bees could be a winner.  You get three moisturising lip shines in soft and easy to wear shades, and it's just £9.99 for the set.  You could give this one as a whole gift, or break it up for stocking fillers too.

Pixi have some beautiful sets out this Christmas, and I have two of them to show you.  Firstly there's the Fairy Dust Favourites, which is a collection of five loose pigment eyeshadows in a stack.  I love these neutral shades, and the texture of the shadows is amazing too - great for blending into that perfect smoky eye fade.  There's also a metallic shades set which looks fab for this time of year - it includes some pretty bronze and gold shades.

Pixi Ultimate Beauty Kit
Lastly I have the Pixi Ultimate Beauty Kit, which seems slightly out of place in my under £30 gift guide, considering just how much product you're getting here.  There are twenty eye shadows, plus eight cheek, bronze and highlight colours, all for £28.  Some of the shadow colours can double up for brows and liner too.  Pixi have been releasing a similar beauty kit each Christmas for the past few years, but with updated shades each time, and they're always really popular, which is why I'm giving one away...

As with all of my gift guides this year, I'm giving one of the gifts away, and today it's the Pixi Ultimate Beauty Kit.  To be in with a chance of winning, pop over to my Twitter to enter.  All entries for this giveaway will be via Twitter - to enter you need to follow me on Twitter (@fluttersparkle) and retweet the giveaway tweet.  This giveaway is open to the UK only and will end at 11.59pm on 11 December 2016.  The winner will be chosen at random and notified through twitter.  Good luck!
