There's not much of a theme this month - it's loosely dubbed the 'summer styling' box - and we're back to the traditional pale pink boxes. I haven't had a look to see what other people got in their boxes yet, but in any case I reckon I got a good box and really like most of the products.
The Dermalogica cleanse tone and moisturise set is on of the best samples I've ever seen in a glossybox and I think anyone who didn't get this in their box will wish they did! This set makes the whole box for me really. I was also really excited to see the Dermablend kit. I've never tried their products, but I know quite a lot about them as my Mum used to use them when I was younger as she has a skin condition called Vitiligo which causes her to have a completely white patch on her neck which has no colour pigmentation whatsoever. Shes less bothered by it these days, and as she is much paler skinned than me anyway it not that noticeable on her at all. But in the past she was more conscious of it and used to cover it up with Dermablend. So basically I know this is good stuff as it can cover all sorts of scars and even tatoos, so surely it'll have no trouble attacking my dark circles!
I also really like the look of the Yves Rocher sexy pulp mascara. Initially it looked like a very small and uninteresting sample, but as soon as I pulled the brush out of the tube I changed my mind - its a funky curvy shape and I know this is the mascara I'll be using tomorrow morning.
After last months birthday glossybox included an extra gift of a glossybox branded compact mirror, it seems they've continued with that trend and have included a glossybox brand make-up brush in the June box. The difference being that this time it makes up one of the five samples and isn't a bonus item. This doesn't bother me at all, and it seems like a fairly nice soft brush, but I can imagine some people might be complaining and thinking this is a bit of a cop-out product. I'll have to go and check twitter to see if I'm right! In terms of the glossybox people, I salute the smart girlie who came up with the idea for glossybox to create their own products to go in the boxes - employee of the month I'm sure!
The last product in my box is a sample of the BM Beauty summer warmth bronzer. I'm having trouble getting excited about this, probably because of the rather dull and plain sample packaging, (I'm such a sucker for pretty packaging) but I do love a good bronzer so Ill be trying this out tomorrow morning too.
Did you get the same things in your glossybox?
*PR sample
I got exactly the same as you! so happy with this months glossy box, I would have been annoyed if I haven't got the dermalogica samples! they are great. Lovely review.xo
ReplyDeleteI got the same as you EXCEPT that instead of the dermalogica stuff I got a tiny perfume sample. I'm not impressed. My box sucks. I cancelled my subscription just now. Can't believe the brush is goat hair, I think that's unnecessary and vile. I can't understand how GB think it's ok to vary the value of the boxes so much! My money is exactly the same as everyone elses so why aren't my items? I'm glad you're happy though, disappointment sucks big time xx
ReplyDeleteOh no :( I didn't realise the brush was goat hair? If you're against animal products then that shouldn't be in your box - maybe they'll change it to something else for you?
DeleteI didnt get dermalogica either. I got 3 agent provoc-however-you-spell-it perfumes samples which someone said they give away free on their website. I dont mind getting a worse box one month as long as I get a better one another month but sadly that hasnt happened yet. I have to disagree that the brush is soft, its the scratchiest brush I own!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's always the way - box envy - I don't think they can make them all the same because the brands can't always provide that many samples, so it it pot luck sometimes.
DeleteMy face must be tougher than your face re scratchy brushes! :)
I got this box! Very happy - but I understand people being upset! My box last month was awful. I hate all the perfume samples they're so 'meh' xx

I agree, perfume samples are my least favourite thing to find in the box too.
DeleteI got the exact same box and i couldn't be happier!:) I was honestly very suprised at how well Glossybox really got it this month, given the fact that i found the previous boxes quite mediocre.

Will do - I'm going to start using it this weekend.
DeleteI got exactly the same box! Love it. Finding the bronzer really hard to use though. I've got to see how it is packaged normally as the tiny pot is impossible! I'm looking forward to trying the dermablend. xo
